When I was looking for an S3 the super sports seats were a must have. I'd read and watched reviews that said the standard seats don't hold you very well. Plus the SSS do add something to the interior.
But when I got the car I realised the seat base is just awful. And as others have said looks to be exactly the same as standard sports seats. There's just not enough depth to the seat and not enough bolstering. So you end up sliding around.
Top half of the seat, there's just enough bolstering to lean on when cornering. But nothing compared to the recaro buckets on my previous S3 8P. They were superb.
Also on a 200 mile journey, my backside was numb after about an hour driving. The seat base is just too flat and hard. You're not in the seat, you are on it, if you get what I mean.
For me personally I'm glad I'm not doing long distances in this car.
