Hey you know that really annoying gap next to the seats that the hoover nozzle wont reach, you know the one with month old McDonalds fries, a pen and a 2p stuck down there. Just next to the center console plastics that your hand can't reach to wipe down ...

    ... I decided I had enough:

Seriously though. If anyone is as uptight about cleaning their car as I am and hesitates about taking out their seats for a good hoover, just go for it. Here's a quick guide (i know it is a super easy job but if it encourages somebody to do it and hoover down there then it's all good):

    1. Take off both headrests.
    2. Slide the seat all the way to the back position
    3. Lift the plastic flap shown as a hole in the floor in the pic. It comes off dead easy.
    4. Don't turn the ignition on after step 5, until the seats are replaced and reconnected otherwise an airbag warning will be set
    5. Unclip the wiring, but don't pull the yellow floor connector from its black surround. It is a PITA to get back in place.
    6. Use a small flathead screwdriver to unclick the wire from the holder to the rear of the hole. The write retains the inner clip on the hose, it parts from the outer rectangular section. Don't try and remove the plastic attached to the hose.
    7. Undo the front bolts first.
    8. Slide seat forward, undo rear bolts
    9. Take out seat and hoover
    10. when replacing, there is a large metal pin and hole setup that makes sure you align them correctly

    Easy peasy, hoover your car.

Now be prepared to find a coder to reset the airbag light!

I didn't have any airbag light issues ... Might go and double check though.

Don't turn the ignition on with the seats disconnected and you won't have any problems.

Nope no need to disconnect the battery. I used a T45 torx for the bolts, not correct but it felt firm without too much risk of rounding. Just be gentle.

Yes I also done this a few weeks back found all sorts done there haha.
A sweet had been there for so long it was melted into the carpet.

I used an M10 spline bit, this is the exact tool for the job ;)

No need to remove the seat either, unbolt & just put the backrest all the way forward & lean the whole & back on the rear of the rails, gives you access to all underneath :)

Yea I did this with the first seat until it fell on my head while I was using the carpet scrubber attachment. Also the rails are a bit sharp and the seats are heavy so decided to drag them out.

On the plus side, I looked super cool casually sat on a car seat on the pavement enjoying a cuppa and whispa gold.

Haha I just took them straigh out didn't fancy banging my head.
Had to man handle then out though! never knew leather heated seats could be so heavy!! I weighed them at 23KG
I can relate to sitting on them while in the garage ;)
