Hey all,
My Audi is causing me some grief and could do with some sort of investigation, but i don't really want to take it to AUDI garage at the charge of £75 Per Hour just for an inspection. Any suggestions would be great and even better if based in the Worcestershire - West Midlands area would be great.

PROBLEM WITH CAR :-
When the car starts from cold everything is fine except from a small movement in the REVs moving up and down (not stable), but when the car is warm and you turn off and try and restart it has difficulty starting, requires alot of pumping of the throttle and once started the revs hold at 2000RPM and takes a while to drop back down to normal tick over (30mins or so)

Any Advice would be great.

Check the coil packs and the MAF.

otherwise,

AMD! in Bicester near Milton Keynes are great and the guys there are Audi trained.

I may sound stupid but what do mean by MAF? and where and what would i check lol,

Sorry i'm dim, Just getting to grips with the A3.

Thanks for the advice thou. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Mass Air Flow.........it is bolted to the air box and monitors air temp, air flow etc. If faulty, it could be the reason for your odd revs etc as it can not calculate the air to fuel ratio to allow the engine to run properly.

If a coil pack is gone it will also make the engine run like a bag of S##T and make the exhaust smell of rotten eggs etc

Right, Cheers. Don't think it's the coil packs the exhaust is fine and the car runs well once started, Must be either 2 things then, MAF or Coolent Temp Sensor.

Whats the part that the air intake connects to at the top of the main engine contact?

The seller told me it could be a stiff component in the top engine component???
