1.9Tdi Quattro Avant (130PS) 6 speed

Looks like it could be your MAF (Mass Airflow Sensor), it's a common fault on all VAG TDIs. It's basically a sensor which sits just after the air filter and messures the airflow into the turbo. If it goes faulty the ecu puts the engine into limp mode. See if you can replicate the problem. If it happens again with the same symptons I'd say it was that.

well its still under warrenty, only got the car on fri! 02 plate, just didnt want to tell audi i was doing 100MPH when it happened

Everyone all too easily assumes MAF problems, which is a VERY common fault, although experience has taught me that " it aint neccessarily so", as the song goes. If it's under warranty then you're covered regardless, so no problem. With regard to the speed you were travelling..... if the Audi man was to ask me why i was travelling at that speed, or that perhaps i shouldn't be doing that speed, my reply to him would be, " why do you make a car that will reach those speeds then, and why publish the top speed performance figures to tempt people to buy them in the first place "? alternatively i would offer him a rather well manicured middle finger, i thought the idea of buying a high quality, fantastically engineered, performance car was to enjoy driving it, when, of course, it's safe to do so. Here's an idea..... get rid of the Audi and buy an L reg corsa 1.2LS. Fit 17" wheels which you've had to drill to fit because they came off an Escort, with badly worn and under inflated tyres, black out the windows, fit a sub the size of a dustbin lid, fit brake pads that cost £4.00 from a back street car accessory shop and are made of reconstituted MDF and cardboard, don't worry about insurance, it's not that important, or road tax, in fact why bother registering the car in your name?? Sorry i've just realised i'm on my soap box again, i do apologise, i've asked for anger management lessons for Christmas, it just makes me boil. Once again sorry....

So you won't be interested in fixing the odd squeaking sound I only get when doing handbrake turns then.../ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devil.gif
