strange noise when you open the drivers side door

Its like a motorised whirring noise. does it every time and sounds like it supposed to, just wondered if anyone knows what the heck its doing?

It's a fuel pump readying itself. It's normal. Happens on every VAG-car.

and in my car, the FUEL pump needs to get ready before each journey... in a 3.2 it has lots of work to do /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif I was hoping for something a bit cooler than a pump though...
