strange noise sounds like an air rade tanoid

Hi all I was wondering if anybody could help me. I have a 2002 audi a3 1.8t quattro and when I started it this morning it was making an awful noise which I can only describe as almost the same sound as a air rade siren and when I revv her up the noise gets louder! The turbo sounds like it's spooling up ok however I'm not hearing the pressure release when I let off the accelerator. Also the car struggles to get to 30mph and takes a long time to get there! When I floor it it dosnt do anything, if anybody can relate or has any advise as it is driving me crazy!! Many thanks

That's usually the sign of a dieing turbo

Great that's all I need on top of that the flywheel and clutch need doing, going to cost an absolute fortune, could that b y my exhaust is heavily smokimg
