Guys,my 1.9tdi stopped Mon night after having been driven most of the day.I went to pull out from a road junction and i thought that i had just stalled but it just kept turning over without firing. The RAC towed me back home but it showed no faults on their diagnostics.Vehicle has now been in my local Audi/VW specialist since yesterday and again the fault is not showing on their diagnostic equipment. They seem to think it might be electrical.Any body had a similar problem?

    No, thank god!

I sometimes think we're too dependant on fault codes, they're a great help but it's like some garages are stuck if they get none!

What further investigations have they done?

Problem solved - new fuel pump fitted and a wiring loom changed due to a resistance fault. Also worth mentioning the space beneath the wiper blades was full of water due to blocked drain holes, this has been sorted since the ecu and some relays live here so it's worth checking out as apparently this is a common issue.Going to pick the car up now but afraid to ask the price over the phone.
