I've got a short shifter, the red dog bone mount and had my gearbox oil changed and it's fine now.

20 minute job mate. You lock the box in neutral position with a little button on the side of the box (bet you never knew it was there ;) ) then you remove the bracket for the throw movement. Put the new one on and tighten up. release gearbox lock.

There are 2 shortshift brackets though. 1 for throw/front to back movement, and 1 for side to side movement. I got the throw bracket. Both are around £40

It might take a little adjustment of the linkage cable to get it as smooth as possible. It's fairly straight forward as there is a little screw thing by the bracket that lets you adjust it.

I'd also recommend getting your gearbox oil changed. It made quite a big difference to mine.

I'm pretty sure you could. I've got my old bracket at home if you wanted to try and mod it.

Would you say it's worth doing the side to side movement too Dave?
