Am I the only who thinks he should of been dead years ago with his captain scarlet attitude?

Killed by a stingray apparently - something about a poisonous barb at the end of it's tail that pierced his chest

And I always thought it'd be a croc

    very very sad indeed.

    Just seen this on Migweb.

In this shitty world of technology and mobile phones, he was refreshing with his fascination of the natural world.

    Huge amounts of character.

    RIP :(

I thought he was going to go to a croc or a snake. The irony is I think he was doing an environmental programme.

Top bloke kept me gripped to the tv with his stunts, again agree with the other posts, i though he might of been killed by a snake or a croc. still a very sad day and i really feel for his wife and two young children, not fair on them but at the end of the day he died doing what he enjoyed. RIP dude!! :-(

The guy was amazing - the way he appealed to both adults and children alike was a change from the usual natural world type journalists. He really seemed like a normal down to earth guy, someone you might meet anywhere you go.

Both my boys and I would sit glued to the TV when he was on, his mannerisms and ability to remain entertaining made him an incredible source of both information and entertainment, it will be a long time before anyone else matches his ability, if ever.

    Sadly missed.

RIP, i have to say whenever i get a chance to watch sky, the channels he usually appears on are always the 1st i check just to whether he was on! I hope someone else takes a leaf out of his book and adds as much enthusiasm to a wildlife program as he did...

It such a loss to are TV screens.
He was such a great person and someone who cares about are wildlife.
Feel very sorry for his family and he will be missed a lot.
Just hard to think it was a stingray that killed him after all those dangerous animals that he as been next to
Well thats the way of life i spose when it's meant to be it will be.
    What a shock.
R.I.P STEVE You'll never be forgoten.
