After driving an r8 at the weekend it really made me realise how bad the standard sport wheel is on my 2004 8p1. I am therefore on the lookout for a replacement but after reading various posts it seems that mine is a single airbag system (later models have a dual airbag release system) and although some people say they can be re wired etc I would just rather a plug and play simple swap.

I am open to different models a3, a4 etc just want it to be a simple fit. Condition of the leather not that important as can get it re trimmed at work anyway.

Let me know what you have please!

TBH mate you have almost no options, except for convert to dual stage which would then allow the use of various other wheels.

    Even something from a mk1tt or b5/6 a4?

Think it's going to be a hassle to change really?

MK1 TT wheel in an 8P, doesnt compute, would look out of place to me & B5/6 is the same wheel so achieves nothing.

You could however stick a nice alcantara wheel same as yours in, these were fitted to RS4 B5's, I had 2, 1 in S3 & 1 in S4, loved them.

To be honest the bespoke trimmers at work hate doing them so I probably wouldn't have to pay for t if for myself but I can find out f they would do it for a friend.it's not the materials but the about time, think it will take best part of a day to do so not cheep.
