Will a 3 spoke s4 steering wheel fit inplace of my standard 4 spoke with out modification

Depends on what age your car is.

If your steering wheel currently looks like this:

STEERING WHEEL WITH AIR BAG AUDI A6 A8 97-01 4 SPOKE | eBay

Then an S4, or any late sport wheel will fit. Late sport wheels are identified by the "ring" around the centre emblem having lots of small dots in it, like this:

If your wheel is like this:
Audi A6 C4 4 Spoke Steering Wheel | eBay

Then you can only fit the earlier sport wheel, which has big dots placed in a smooth ring, like this:

I found issues with my Sport as I wanted to replace the tired wheel with a minty one I got from a scrap yard. Saddly I found my '96 has a hex column not a splined one so I shall have to swap a splined column in as well. ******!

Im pretty sure that last one wont fit its the same fitment as the previous as the decription says, they are on A6/A8 with auto tip

i think if he has the one with big airbag, this one should fit

Purchased a s4 steering wheel last night ( multi small dots ) off flea bay
Just added to the list of jobs to do on my car.
