Steering Wheel Squeek !!!!!!!!!!

Ok, lived long enough with this problem...... its time to fix.

What bearing to i need to swap? can sombody point me in the right direction please.

mine squeaks sometimes...silicon spray is the fix!

Crispin, been doing the WD40 and white lithium for a year now.... sick of it.

Is it easy to get the stering wheel off ??????

It seems to be the slip ring that causes the squeak - not any kind of bearing. You will need a new slip ring in all likelihood.

On my 03 C5 I had annoying squeek/rattle. Turned out to be the airbag was moving in its mounting and it was replaced (fortunately while the car was still under warranty)

Take a look at this video on YouTube. Is this the noise you are referring to? If so, it's the slip ring.

The suggested fix seems to be to fit a new slip ring. I don't think I would attempt this personally because it involves removing the steering wheel (and therefore the airbag) and I would be worried about it igniting. I would get a garage to do it, but I guess there are more daring folks on here who would just do the job themselves.
