Steering noise maybe

    Thought I would try and ask another question as no one seems to know the answer to my other thread and lights :unsure:

    Anyway, this one seems to maybe have something to do with the steering.

    The car is an A4 (b5) 2.6se auto. The noise sounds like a dull humm and is audiable from 35mph to about 50mph. Only noticeable when going in a straight line and slightly louder when steering to the right. When steering to the left, the noise seems to stop :banghead:


    Any ideas to what this could possibly be please?

    wheel bearing, when steering the weight moves from side to side so when more weight goes onto a duff bearingit grumbles louder
