Steel wheels (what size?)

I am looking into getting some steel wheels for the winter so I can fit snow tyres, we get it really bad where I live, so what size would I need to clear the front brakes on my a4? It's a 2003 2.5tdi fwd sport 163bhp. Cheers lads

What about 16" B5 alloys, when I was looking around for a set of steel wheels, I found it cheaper to get a set of used alloys than what people were asking for steel wheels.

I just found that out too searching eBay lol, ate the offsets / pcd's the same??

Yer, they are fine. I run a set on a B7 and they are a perfect fit offset wise. Pcd are the same, think only the mk1 TT & A3 had different pcd's.

Technically speaking, here are the original winter tyre sizes that fit your car :

235 40 R18 95 Y

235 45 R17 94 Y

215 55 R16 93 Y
