Stage 1 S3 map, fluttering from 3500-4000rpm

    Hello, Had a stage 1 map put on the car this morning.

    I have a forge recirc valve (Changed to yellow spring), ITG intake.

    Since map I now have a flutter in power when under hard acceleration between 3,500-4,000rpm. It is fine before, and afterwards throughout the rev range.

    Its running currently on tesco 99.

    I have removed the forge recirc valve thinking its dumping too early but its not cured it...


    anybody else come across this problem before?

    Hey Tim, all it is is the diverter valve modulating the boost, it's perfectly normal. Nothing at all to worry about. I have the Forge DV and yellow spring fitted also. For me it just became more noticeable after I had my Forge TwinTake fitted. Have a read of Silky's original thread (couldn't find Blackie's one from the other day when having a quick search either, ..I should have gone to Specsavers, I guess lol) :wub: xx

    But it's funny how the original valve and the forge valve both do this? It doesn't seem right that it should do it... I'm going to ring up the place that mapped it when they are open again just to check its definitely ok.

    I fitted a milltek turbo back exhaust and it stopped the fluttering..... Until I had a play with an sps it came back. But reverted to settings I first had on and still there. Fail!

    Also fitted a hpfp so going to go back for a stage 2 or 2+ map soon and ask about it.

    Flutter still present and its now been stage 2+ map, on studying the RR graph I've noticed it doesn't have as greater climb in the power curve between where the fluttering starts and stops. may need to return to mapper?

    As above the fluttering sound is boost modulation as Paullie explained above!

    Strange how as it happens though there is a dip in the power curve, Any way to get around it happening?

    I will scan in and message you the graph if you like. It is the latest software version as you may recall being contacted by a dealer about problems flashing my car and had to return the next week once the new software was released.

    Yes and I spoke to Dan over at Clive Atthowe's as well, there's no real dip in the power curve but you can see a dip in the torque curve which is accentuated on the graph due to the scaling. That car's seeing some very healthy figures for stage1!
    To make sure it's all okay I'd get it logged on the road, you'd be able to see boost dipping if it's massively pulling load out for some reason.

    Ok I will log again on the road, this isn't stage 1 this is stage 2+ mapped

    I used to Run my Car on Tesco 99 and i started having the Hesitation problems,
    I have recently been on Holiday with a Tank full of V Power been down South to the Isle of Wight for a week and then to Devon for a week clocked up 960 Mile in 2 week with using nothing but Shell V Power and the hesitation has vanished !! [​IMG]

    Sorry yeah i thought maybe it's something that was only going to happen stage 1 but then it remained when I went to stage 2+ but added it to this thread.

    Mine has always been on vpower so hesitation is with that.
