Reassembling the find in the box a heatshield plate which was on there and stripped off earlier (I did'nt remove it and did'nt know it existed) Now I've found it, I now need to change and modify it and re-route some stuff....... <sighs>

All lines on oil/water tightened and ready for fluids tomorrow once I have modified the ally heatshield thingy.
I have added some additional heatshield in front of the brake master cylinder also.. hot hot hot..

Looks good looking at the bay near complete and very nerve racking knowing it will be turning over shortly

The lines look right at home in the bay and definately look like they're built to last :)

Can't wait to know it works lol

the pipe in question looks like this one I have here>
    [IMG]

and the leaking joint is the top pipe in the picture, where it Tee's off.. Busted or corrded braze joint or something I dont know.

Big strip down to access it and remove it, which busts the already very marginal timeline I was trying to achieve.. :(
Absolutely bloody gutted to be honest. MANY many hours stuffed in solely on this build these past 10 days... but this tips it out of reach for inters.. Sorry Stacey.

    I could frigging cry! :(

But look at the girth on it. It's not all about the length. Saying that, I just ordered a 14"er.

This is bad news. I was looking forward to seeing this making epic power asap.

What a complete pain in ****ing ****.....but never mind....maybe it just wasnt meant to be?

Am really bummed but at least when I pick the car up now I can put some miles on it and get used to it again before launching it up the strip the day I get it back

On another plus side it wont be rushed (although I know bill wouldnt rush and let sub standard work leave his) but it will now get all the time it needs within reason on the mapping etc to make it the best it can be

Also am hoping to get some time off of work and be there during the mapping process and learn a little :)

I still plan on making it to inters but have got to speak to my mate Dave about a lift whos currently in Ibiza and not had a reply for a couple of days so not sure if hes still conscious?

Other slight problem is am waiting on a part for my fishing bivvy which was 3-5 working days on monday so may not have shelter?

On a plus side I can stay intoxicated for the weekend and weather looks amazing!

It wont be rushed.. Too much time and ££ in vested in the build to rush for a date, and risk issues by missing something.. Crazy to attempt it. My diary and volume of complete Custom work, means planning turns to hell, compounded by parts deliveries being late, and the step by step evolution of such a custom build... not rushing it, and where a special part would be best solution, one is made ot sourced. This takes time to do. Unless you experience the work thats required in building something like this to this level, you cannot begin to understand. Two folks on here know whats involved, mark and tuffty and how multiple custom builds, and the process of building such things, has a huge domino effect on all other jobs.. (which I have several around currently)

No one was expecting a factory pipe to leak.. bizarre.. location buried as it is behind all manner of stuff it whats tipped the balance.

+ve's being it will get some on the road milage before being launched, and the completion of the build once this is fixed, and any other gremlins arise have opportunity to be fixed. (which I fully expect. its all new at the end of the day)
Heat cycles and remaining fluid tight will be a next milestone to pass.

still gutting however for everyone "directly" involved.

Bring your suntan cream for the weekend.. Scorchio promises :)

Was starting to get a bit apprehensive that the car (and me with little experience or familiarity with it) would be going straight on the strip

It will be nice to put some miles on it first now and may even drop in a cheeky rwyb day at pod to satisfy my curiousity lol

As lovely as one of them stainless pipes looks I'll have to pass and stick with an oem one with a £10 AN adaptor welded on the end ;)

Yeah I think I will probably end up sticking to OEM. Fortunately conditions are a little less harsh here than the UK so rust is really a non issue for the most part.

I was looking at the CTS housing from that guy (I posted it in another thread) but once you go AN you really have to do the whole lot. I'll probably just use OEM 90 degree fittings for the bulkhead?

Oem is definitely cheaper but my main worry was hoses melting on the tial by going underneath and to be honest its a lot tighter than you would think, not sure if oem 90's will fit

I know that with james leon he was able to use the oem 225 hoses that go over the TIP with some bending but comparing photos previously the revised design means the turbo sits higher by over an inch iirc?

the stainless pipe thing looks neat... and a little expensive, but I know what short batch custom stuff costs..
personally I would make it in ally like I have done on the oil drain.

Bill. have you primed the fuel system yet? Just wondering if those AN fittings on the fuel lines are leak free. I read once fitted they are almost impossible to remove. You need the mother of all Mcgyver tools and little gipsey hands.
