Ok so the speedo and mile clock stoped working the other day. They havent moved since. I tried using the computer on the climate control to display the speed but this also wont work. Does this suggest that its the speedo sensor rather than the dash that is not working correctly? If so how easy is it to change and what does the part cost?
I tried searching but found not too much on the topic so if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Tom.

I'd say the distance sensor on the gearbox is dead.

Model and year? Always helps to give as much info as possible!

It's on the left hand side of the gearbox (passenger) just above the driveshaft drive flange. You'll prob need to take the wheel off to get at it properly I would have thought. It's a push and twist affair to get it out, so not too bad. You'll need to replace the gasket as well. Not sure about cost though mate, sorry.
