First of, swapped the Turbo for a KO3S today.

All in but this has lead to two issues:

1) Coolant leak
2) Speedo is not working and irratic fuel gauge - When scanning Instruments on Vag-Com i recieve no response error

Brain hurts right now so if anyone has good ideas on what to check on in the morning would be appreciated.

I had similar problem on my 1.8 T. My speedo did'nt work, and the fuel gauge was all over the place.

Spent a fortune trying to find the problem, in the end the fault did not cost any money to rectify.

Vag com did not spring up any faults.

Changed the speedo/road speed sensor 3 times - Not the problem.

Changed the clocks - Not the problem

I don't know how the fault occurred as it was like it when i bought it. But guessed it happened when someone replaced the starter motor.

Are you getting impatient now? Lol.. The wiring loom had worn through to the wires, and was shorting out speedo and fuel gauge, i just cut and re-joined wires.

My wire brake was on the loom that went over the starter motor, it was SUPPOSE to be clipped to the starter motor. Like i said, it looked like someone had changed the starter motor, and not clipped it back up again causing it to rub a hole into the loom.

Hope this helps..
