Does this unit work on an ML320Cdi? If so what are the gains etc and are they still available at the above price?

    Hi Johny,

It is covered, it's pretty much the same ECU as the 150, 180. 190 and 225 (Bosch ME7.1). Just isn't on the list.

    Cheers, Mark

Only the older ECU's at the moment. The newer EDC16 ECU's are not support as of yet, but we're currently working on it.

We're looking at end of September for the BMW's if all goes well. So you could put your name down for one and I can send you the updated SW when it's available if the group buy goes ahead by then.

As I live too far away to come in for a demo or anything, but I am a complete novice when it comes to car tuning. Is there any risks that could happen if I do something wrong? Or is it even possible to do something wrong when installing it! Also, what payment methods do you accept?

It's very easy, The only thing you could do wrong is remove the OBD cable whilts programming the ECU.

We accept, Bank Transfer, Cheque, Credit Card and Cash.

    Gains are as follows.
    Eco - 25hp 50nm
    Fast Road -43hp 70nm
    Race - 50hp - 90nm.

There is a Track map for this to, but sports clutch etc are required to be safe. Gains in that are around 60hp 110nm

    Thanks, Mark

I got some more questions! Have you got any acceleration times for an A3 2.0 TDi 140 with the different maps?

    Eg.
    Economy Map: 0 - 60, 30 - 70, 50 - 70.

    Fast Road: 0 - 60, 30 - 70, 50 - 70.

    Race: 0 - 60, 30 - 70, 50 - 70.

    etc etc etc.

Not as such, we've not tested this, but my 150pd golf, is 8.3 0-62, with a Race Map it's about 6.7. I'm going to test it with VAG-COM to see what I get. And let you know.

    Thanks, Mark

    Hiya Wai-Fan,

0-60 times etc have far too many variables, it's a bit like head line BHP increases, they are great for for pub boasting but there are too many variables involved to actually mean anything. Tyre pressures, new tyres/old tyres, how hard a card is strapped down to a rolling road, temperature in the booth can all have an effect on the actual bhp figures a car produces.

Mechanical sympathy and driver skill will seriously effect the performance figures you can extract out of a car. Don't forget most magazines that test cars don't care if they break them... It just gets sent back to the press office and they send another one, no worrying about warrenty claims...

Whats more important is the way the car drives after the remap. For example I had my old A3 2.0Tdi DSG revo'd. I ran the car a few times up the strip at Gti international and the figures it produced were nothing to write home about, I don't think I even managed to better the stock 0-60 Audi figures... But it was a lot nicer to drive, was definately a lot more spritely to drive. Seat of the pants Dyno showed that it was faster and I could play with a lot more cars on my commute.

Also the headline figures only tell part of the story, a remap will improve the power throughout the rev range, you normally get a big increase of power in the midrange that isn't highlighted in the headline BHP/Torque figures.

Basically what I am trying to say is ignore the figures and I promise you that a remapped car will be a lot nicer to drive and a lot faster. Just do a search for remap in the 8p forum and you will lots of posts all saying the same thing - after the remap this is how the car should have left the factory!

I've read most of the reviews for the remaps and I am certainly looking forward to how the car would drive! I just wanted to know the figures so I can get a rough idea of what to expect.

    Hi there,

    Yes this is supported

VBecause of the DPF there is only 2 maps for this one.

    Eco - 25hp 60nm
    Fast Road - 40hp 90nm.

We are looking at developiing an upgraded DPF to allow for higher fuel pressure to get a bit more out of these engines.

    Thanks, Mark

    Hi Mark,

i've been looking at this thread for a couple days now um'ing and arr'ing
really tempted by the product because as most folks, you can always do with a bit more speed but i also commute daily from notts to mk and do alot of miles so an ECO map would be great but a RACE map for when i wanna have sum fun

My question is do you get an option with the device to change back to your stock map as well as two desired maps ie STOCK ECO RACE
or is it only 2 options

Just concerned audi might not be too pleased with me constantly changing maps

Also is there a problem changing the maps frequently? from ECO to RACE

    I have an A3 2.0TDi Sport (140)

    Thanks

    Hi Sunny,

You get 3 maps with this system (Stock, and 2 of ECO, Fast Road, Race)

There is no isue with switching maps as much as you like. Doesn't lock up tyhe ECU or anything liek that.

    Thanks, Mark
