the problem i see is that the new A4 remote doesn't use a physical ignition so the blade in the remote is just an emergency blade to unlock the door if the remote isn't working

I've had loads of people asking me similar questions with different cars & remotes. I've bought 2nd hand remotes & modules to tinker with & most of the time it's been a waste of money. Especially as it hasn't been for my car.

I'd say wait until the Chinese do an upgrade case. They've done upgrade flip remote cases for cars that don't have flip remotes as standard

    My A3 doesn't have a physical ignition either. ;)

But I get it, not worth the hassle.

    Thanks for your answer :icon_thumright:

oh right so yours has an intelligent key, never seen 1 for an A3. The only intelligent key i've seen is for the A4 & A5. So what does yours look like then?

bit of a poor do that! Can't see why Audi couldn't just use the same style remote as the A4 if it's an intelligent key.

Anyways the main issue i see is the button layout!

yeh, the earliest cars i've seen with that style remote are 2005 A4 & A6. Not sure why they have to sue different parts for different models. It must cost them more money to make specific keys & modules for different models.

If your car has aux heating, you can set it to run on a timer from the head unit. The options were hidden on the phaeton i did previously. Would this be of benefit?

    Hello.

I need a spare key. My original was taken apart for the Clifford 5.5 avantgard alarm to be fitted some 3-4 years ago.

Since then i've only ever had the one key, but kept the 2nd key (not fob) the actual metal key. Sorry to confuse.

Would you still be able to sort me a identical replacement?

    For ref: 8L - 2002 S3.

    Thanks,
    Joe

These aftermarket keys are now available for 8p chassis, complete cut and programmed price of 120 for a remote key in any of the pictured style of key.

Over 100 cheaper than the main dealer, and a much quicker turn around.
