    :salute: HI Guys,

I am new to this forum. I’m located in Sydney Australia.

I need some help with getting an Intercooler for my car.
    I am currently running 2000 model 1.8TQ.
So far I have K04, 3’ TB all the way to the rear (stock) muffler. This set up keep the noise down. J
I am running into a bit of a problem (surging) when the boost is peaking at around 21 psi.

I was told installing a larger intercooler should eliminate this problem.

Currently I am keen on Racetec IC kit as it fits behind stock bumper. Though it is almost US $1000..It is a bit out of my budget.

I know that IC kit could be sourced from different places and save some money. Can you guys give me some pointer?

    - I need a kit that will fit behind a stock bumper ( with little hacking is ok)
    - Need to accommodate the GFB diverter valve
    - Also if possible there should be a bung for air temp sensor (2000 model thing)

Looking at dappandan786 post, the kit is quiet interesting. But not sure where the pipes and the rest are from.

    Thanks guys

hhmmm.. did some more reading and found other thread with info in there about ebay seller. D's DEVELOPMENT AUDI A4 FRONT MOUNT INTERCOOLER KIT

I am calling the seller now for some questions.
It is only half the price of Racetec..I hope it is as good.

Question for those that have installed FMIC.

Is it easy to remove the old SMIC?
alot of install instructions do not say anything about removing the old SMIC.

    Thanks

I run the Race tec like you stated and I have to say it a nice bit of kit but then if Autobahn88 had there's up for grab at the time I would have tried that.
