Sony Head Unit Problem

I've got a Sony MDX-CA580 mini-disc head unit, it's a few years old now and had been sat around for a good while now but worked fine when it was last used.

About a week ago I had a go at fitting it into my current car but it wouldn't hold any of it's memory settings after being switched off. I've used a multi-meter to test the wiring so it was definately wired up correctly and i've tried the other radio back in it again which works fine.

This suggests to me that it's definetly something to do with the head unit rather than the wiring. Can any of you offer any suggestions or is my head unit just knackared?

I had this problem with a Sony head unit in a Vauxhall, it turned out the switched feed (live with ignition on) and the permanent feed from the car needed swapping over.

d5aul got it in one, swap the red and yellow wires about on the iso adaptor /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

yea that sorted it, should have though of that really.
