Sony DSLR A200 turning the screen on and off?

Ive just borrowed the above camera and the large lcd screen ( which on my stock sony camera is like a view finder ) shows nothing until you take a picture. is it possible to turn this screen on so it works like my old sony?

Try changing the selector to the "live or movie" mode.
