could someone with the Audi parts CD look up a part number for me please?
i want to check that an Audi TT and S3 steering rack are the same part numbers mine is up sh1t creek and need a new one as soon as possible
here is the part number of the one for sale 8N2422061H - my car is a 2000 W-reg S3

Yes. The TT quattro has the same steering rack as the S3.
That part number you have is correct.

When you say "up **** creek" what exactly has it done, ****** fluid all over the place?

yeh its leaking fast, using quite alot of fluid and when its low it makes a whining noise so i have to keep topping it up. just bought a brand new rack off ebay, what you think??

i thought it was a bargain as a new one from the dealers is just short of £500 and you have to give them your old one back!
