haha cheers fella - it's not that hard

    hose car over to wetten

wash with gold class shampoo - http://www.meguiars.co.uk/cgi-bin/specwd.pl?pc=G7116&tp=0

using lambswool wash mitt - http://www.meguiars.co.uk/cgi-bin/specwd.pl?pc=A7301&tp=0

    hose down with water

(wash again if required........usually good to do it twice though)

then dry off with Supreme Shine Microfibre - http://www.meguiars.co.uk/cgi-bin/specwd.pl?pc=X2010&tp=0

then cake wheels in this > http://www.meguiars.co.uk/cgi-bin/specwd.pl?pc=G9524&tp=0 vigarate all around with some old sponge and rinse with hose

the some bit of sponge to apply the tyre gel (makes tyres blacker) - http://www.meguiars.co.uk/cgi-bin/specwd.pl?pc=G7516&tp=0 - smells lush, like blackcurrant fruitella (use gloves if you don't want black fingernails for the next week, lol)

then using an applicator pad > http://www.meguiars.co.uk/cgi-bin/specwd.pl?pc=X3070&tp=0 apply the trim detailer > http://www.meguiars.co.uk/cgi-bin/specwd.pl?pc=G10810&tp=0 to all the black bits (grille, side skirts, wiper arms, aerial etc etc)

perfect job for an afternoon ;)

Thanks for that Drew have just oredered some meguiars bits and will give my car a good clean at the weekend. I use to vallet cars in a previous life but there wasn't so much choice on the market as there is today.

Were you wide open with the 70-200? Have you got a CPL? I have just got my hands on a 70-200 be it a 4 no IS and can't wait to try it.

no probs :) don't have a cpl, but just doing some adjustments in photoshop enhance the colouring a bit and using shadow/highlights brings back some brighter reflections so it kinda appears like a cpl - some shots were wide open i think, to find out if you want, save the image then find it, right click > properties, then go to the summary tab, then click advanced.....in the focal length row it says the zoom value in mm :sm4:

Recently got into the D-SLR craze my self recently.. splashed on a Canon EOS 400d, over the Nikon d40x. I could really do with a lens that has Image Stabilizer when I can't be bothered with lugging around a tripod.

That f/2.8L lens certainly makes the difference... not a cheap lens thats for sure! I was looking into this type (70-200mm f/2.8) with the "IS" Image Stabilizer and it's a wacking £1244-£1340 in the shops!

Been shopping around for the following type of lens for my Canon.. 17-55mm F/2.8 with Image Stabilizer. To replace my crappy stock lens. Deals I got so far are £654-£870. £463 if i took the risk to purchase it from Hong Kong. Still thinking about it....

You still need a tripod especially with a 70-200. Get a tripod and use the self timer it is a must for car photography. IS lens's only give you a couple of stops, bump the ISO up a bit does the same thing but can get a bit noisy.

I can highly recomend the 17-55 f2.8 IS, I use it as my walkabout lens. I bought a couple from Hong Kong but remember the import duty.

A EF 50 f1.8 is a must for the money.
