I adore my A3 1.8T, but am getting abit sick of it atm.

The car had the head gasket replaced about 2 months ago, and when I was away for the weekend, the head gasket went again...

Massive overheating and lots of pressure in the collant system. So it's gone back to the garage that fitted it under their warranty..

Have I got a lemon??? Seriously am considering selling and getting something else. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Depends how long you've had it for and what mileage it done. My baby is approaching 100k and despite, new engine, new arbs, new manifold, new disks, new brakes, new tyres and new haldex system i'll keep it.

i've had the car for 18 months it's a V reg '99 with 110k miles on the clock

no modifications except rebuilt engine.

Who did the work? Are they reputable?

Was the underlying fault found or did they just replace the head gasket?

As long as the fault is fixed that is causing the gasket to blow then you should be ok...

I assume the reason why the head gasket went the first time was because the water pump wasn’t changed with the cam belt.

I hope your not going away from the Audi brand. I have had my 1.8T for 3 years and the only thing that has gone wrong was the bushes.
