my old man says my car is smoking, he thinks its buring oil (i aint seen any smoke so i can't comment on the colour of the said smoke)

i had a quick search around online for a bit more info about the A3, does this sound right ?

i tend to agree, valve stem seals & oil & filter change.
however has your car lost power & become hard to start, ie turning over a long time on starter before engine starting,if so then it could well be piston rings.as for the most econ solution, i'm afraid i can't help as i've had no connection with audi expenses. hope i've helped in some way, best of luck, regards

my car shoundn't need a oil change as i had a new sump, new oil and filter done about 3 weeks ago.

Is the car petrol? is it turbo?
A little more info would help.
when does it do said smoke?
is it using oil? is it bad on fuel?

sorry, its a 1.6 petrol, N/A, i get around 400 miles to a full tank, is that good or bad ?
the dips stick its only showing its used a tiny amount, he says he does it is every gear. he only see me drive when car is from cold, so i don't know what it does when its hot

I would get the car connected to vag com or something like that.
It might be running rich.
Is it worse if you leave it to idle for say ten mins then blip the throttle?
until you have run a scan for fault codes... i wouldnt start guessing.

how much will it cost to have it put on to Vag Com ?

Erm... it depends where you are to be honest.
There are alot of members on here that have vag com .
