hello all!, Names Nick, im 21 and from Yeovil, Somerset,i thought i'd show myself after being here for a while!

This is my 13th car since i've passed back in 2010, Starting with a Mk1 Punto i feel i've not done too bad now!
The previous vehicle to the A3 was a 96 Golf TDI
    12121214336_15c6a33188.jpg
It was amazing, but had 197,000 miles, starting to get rotten underneath and i fancied a change, so i advertised it and got offered a swap for a "burgandy" Audi A3, had a months tax and mot, abit of a gamble i know but whats more likely to pass an MOT?
so i said yes!, Next day (03/12/13) i went to view it and the deal was made!

Picked her up from Taunton and had a lovely drive home.... Previous owner said, the ignition needs replacing as it messes with the electrics so on the way home, we had no lights/indicators/heating or wipers  and then the gear linkage popped off, an hour or so later driving everywhere in 4th, we made it home!

    So here's a little spec
    1997 Audi A3 1.6
    93,000 Miles
    3dr, standard
Cream/grey whatever colour it is interior
a little battered but no problem

First things were, clean, tax and mot!
Passed with two advisories, both rear springs rusty and front n/s disk pitted
    First mod, debadge
    12120456035_24cb7f3f9e.jpg
    12120844474_aa70e04028.jpg
    wax and polish the thing!
    12121257874_67c3dde2c3.jpg
Fitted a new headunit and got myself the adapter for the OEM Subwoofer and rear speakers, no pics needed really

Due to doing alot of driving, i felt the seats were not very supportive, so i replaced the front seats with some from a Y reg facelift 1.8
    12121151653_12e7f2b3bb.jpg
    alot nicer!

    which brings upto today.......
    12120846965_041c9f8a78.jpg
    STILL STANDARD!

    My plans are pretty simple....
Lows, Wheels, better interior, New front bumper, lights and L.E.D upgrade for interior

Before i leave you all with this average post, this also was included in the folder of paperwork, circa 2001-01

    Thanks for looking :)

Nice realistic plans dude... don't get many 1.6's in this section tbh as the 1.8t dominates... when we do they all just seem to want to get more power or do a 1.8t engine swap (which is largely pointless as you may as well just buy a 1.8t!)

Welcome to the forum, nice colour too :)

someone might see this update maybe not, but i've finally lowered it :D

Browsing Facebook classifieds someone was selling a set of coilovers for £80 so i snapped them up and fitted them the next day

Happy as can be! usual ARB rubbing but that'll be sorted after i can decide what to do
Also painted the front grille and badge black, looks much better!
Also got some Facelift lights, fit them or not? I've seen the guides and i cant be arsed with the wiring, might sell them

    Next on the list:
Wheels- Finance offer on some Lenso BSX wheels from Rimstyle, cant decided to go 16" or 17" and what tyres?
Clutch- Slipping quite alot and biting point is too high.
    Starter motor- typical vw parts........
Sort out bodywork- Lacquer peel on wing, bonnet and just above rear window
    FRONT BUMPER- its shagged

    Here's some pics :)
