Silly Question (What the heck is this)

hi Guys

Had my 2010 A3 TSFI 2.0 s-line s-tronic for a few weeks now, thought I worked out all the little knobs and gadgets and funnies but I have come across this (see pics) In the roof behind the rear view mirror up against the wind screen, I can only describe it as a plastic flap thingy lol when lower / pulled down nothing there apart from looks like a hole, any ideas???

No worries fella, it did baffle a few people though, most of us learnt the hard way lol
