I re-sealed one of my valve covers today as I had a very slight leak , I didn't have a new gasket so I used silicone as I had done the other side like this and it's been fine.

but I may have got a bit carried away with the silicone because when I bolted it done the was a bit of waste squeezed out, so I'm guessing a similar amount will have been squeezed out on the inside

is this an issue or should I just pop it apart tomorrow and clean it up and put less on, just concerned that it may come loose in the head etc

what do you think?
