Good afternoon everyone,

Just a quickie – I’ve been using Shell Helix Ultra Extra 5W-30 with my S3, but it appears this product is no longer available.

I *think* Shell have replaced the above with Shell Helix Ultra ECT 5W-30, but I just wanted to make sure.

With this in mind, can anyone confirm if I should now be using Shell Helix Ultra ECT 5W-30 with my S3?

Thanks,

Dan

I order directly from shell and they changed it to 0w30.

It is still 504.00/507.00 specific. So all good.

Said bottle.

Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated.

So it sounds like Shell Helix Ultra ECT 5W-30 is indeed the replacement for Shell Helix Ultra Extra 5W-30.

mjr901 - strange that the 0W-30 option doesn't reference VW 504.00/507.00 on the website; but as you say, the label suggests otherwise!

That's because the OP and I referenced Helix Ultra ECT

mjr901 referenced Helix Ultra Pro AV-L

You can look up all the difference variants of Helix Ultra here:
http://www.shell.co.uk/gbr/products...ind-right-car-oils/helix-fully-synthetic.html

(I personally wouldn't put 0W in an older engine, and UK winters don't really demand 0W)

This is what (some) Audi dealers are currently providing in the boot as a top up kit:
