The box is a sealed with15 L internal volume.

A JBL shallow mount is recommending 14.15 L and a regular Kenwood requires 18.4 L.

Shallow or regular for best result, and what would happen if the Kenwood went in the undersize box ?

if you put the kenwood in a smaller than normal box it will produce a slight hump in the frequency response
but being as its a sealed unit it will still work quite well

shallow mount subs dont have the power handing or capability of a normal sub as yet as they are still fairly new and being devolped

if you can stretch to it a jl audio w0 should do everything you want

JL Audio 10W0 v3-4 are less than £61 at the moment :sm4:

But the JL also requires 18.4 L.

I have found a regular sub that is a freak as it requires less internal volume than a shallow in its own line up and a Kenwood shallow.

It's a Rockford Fosgate Prime Series R2D4 , requiring 16.71 L.

What do you think ?

what kind of music do you listen to ??

that amp will power the rockford or the jl just make sure you wire it up properly
the rockford is a dvc sub so has two ways of wiring it

Thanks for your input.

There is only 1 band I have every album...

Metallica.

a kindred spirit been lucky enough to see them live a few times

in that case buy the jl audio it will perform well on this kind of music
