Every year the Severn Valley railway in the Midlands holds a 1940's weekend. So off with wifey I went to enjoy a nice day out in the sunshine. (Great day out was had by all. They also hold it next weekend, 6th & 7th July in case you want to go.)

Station looks like this.

The Train

And so further down the line there we were enjoying the sun when low and behold a bunch of Germans turn up and take over the station.

Yay, up turn the good guys

Bad guys defeated and its all over.

Monty gives a speech.

And we all go home on the train past a field of poppies.

All in all a fantastic day out.

I've stayed in Highley many times to fish the Severn and this event is usually on the week we are there. The folks put a huge amount of effort in to make a great event. Sitting on the river bank while WWII breaks out behind you is quite an experience. Some period fighter planes usually put in a fly-by which is pretty cool too!!

Thanks for the pics :icon_thumright:
