Secondary air blanking plate.

    Anyone know of a cheaper alternative?

    I aint paying nearly £30 delivered from forge for a piece of metal.

    Make one yourself if you can?

    Or you could use a core plug to the same size as the hole. You can get them from engine machine shops

    Dani,

    I made my own when i converted my mk2 to 20vt. Used an offcut from a strip of ali, shaped it using my bench grinder and then drilled the holes. I reused the original gasket after a little trimming so it fitted perfect...

    Cost me the total of bot all and 5 minutes. Ive got loads of that ali strip if your stuck bud.

    Why will you? Ive got the 80mm one in place and im still running the SAI, for now that is.

    Nope, you could do though, ive just fitted a smaller breather into the sai intake :).

    As Dave said, just weight and less things to go wrong. The secondary pumps are common failures. They only run in the first few seconds of startup anyway.
