Scuttle panel hell

Currently replacing this panel and it refuses to sit flush on the windscreen. It won't clip in anywhere into the groove. Well it will clip in then pop out went I release pressure. I have cleaned out the grove a load of times.

Anyone have any advice? Has anyone had to replace the groove?

I had the same issue with mine, tired all kinds of stuff to try and getthe scuttle panel to stay down, it was worse in hot weather!

Unfornately the only thing that sorted it was when i got a new windscreen

I had the same. Lost my temper and tiger sealed it down. JUst a thin bead along the edge.

A few years ago this caused water to drain onto the wiring for my ecu, run down the wiring and into the ecu. Cost me best part of £800 to fix.
Never again.

What a pita this is. Got one third clipped in. The central bolt that holds the wiper mech seems to be stopping the panel from sitting flush on the screen.

Scotty24 how did you hold the panel flush to the screen when sealing it down?

If you don't manage to get a good seal it will cause water to drain into your passenger footwell via the pollen filter box.

I hope you get it sorted.i ended up buying a new scuttle to resolve the issue on mine many years ago
