That's just what I need , my passenger side airbag light is above the radio and I wanted to move it. Just hope now I have the wiring in the overhead light. Do you have the part number for the overhead light?

so a bit more today :)

    started off debumpering the audi

rears are a bit of a pain as you have to take out all the rear interior, sub and and box etc.

started on the rear, the blue upper had some bad reversing dents so i checked the upper bumpers part numbers and they were the same so swapped over

i had wondered if the rear Sline lowers were deeper than the SE or it was just the addition of the vent. it turns out they are deeper

    SE exhaust cutout

and the bottom brackets are flat on the SE and stepped on the Sline

fitted it on the car to check tow bar clearences

so out came the powerfile and a bit of zipping, try cut try cut try cut cut try

much better than the square chop they made when fitting the tow bar

    Then on to the front

i followed this as a guide

DIY: B6 A4 - Ultrasport Lower Front Bumper with Stock Upper

    and got chopping

alot more trying and cutting and back and forth, i had a bit of a problem that my upper was infact origionally off the silver one all those posts ago as i wanted headlight washers, and had been in a bit of a knock and split all the underneith, above the foglights, and glued and screwed back together etc, so not quite right. it never really fitted spot on, but you never noticed as it was all white lol. So this hampered fitting the Sline lower as its all a bit crocked. but got it all on

the only bit that doesnt line up spot on due to the damage is this leg, but still acceptable and wont notice when its all on. you can also see a few descete screws i had to put in the grilles as the inner bit they normally clip into arent there.

    and all done

will be going off to my mate the painter tomorrow :)

Do you have any idea what I would have done to get that back bumper in that colour? I looked for 3 years then had to go with a battered red bumper.
I think it would have been easier to fit the entire front bumper rather than modding your original one.

I'd be the same looking for a white rear! I bet two will turn up at once now.... Two reasons I didnt use the blue front bumper, 1. It didnt have headlight washers, and 2. Sline upper and lowers complete go for good money :)

This is a proper common problem, it is the retaining clip on the caliper, proper annoying, i need to replace mine as i have bent them that far that thy now touch me wheel inner hub, they are the crapest idea in the world, a ten min fix takes all that annoying rattle away !!

Yes just replace. You can bend them out for a period of time but they just get weaker......at the bending stage myself LOL

I carried on felting the bumpers untill I was happy with them. Done a few repairs

primed and prepped up and loaded in the wagon to take to my old work for a mate to whiten them up

That was yesterday, and picked them up this morning :)

You can see it alot clearer the SE upper and Sline lower chopping now its in white. I did find that the bit I cut out of the se lower at the bottom does in fact clip in the tabs on the sline lower to allow the fog light grilles to clip into

Here is a rear shot I forgot to put up before painting

The origional silver engine donor a4 had an undertray and spats I took off all those years ago as my white one never had one, so thought it would be a good idea to fit them....... but now I cant find all those 90degree twist bolts they use so will have to get some more :(

I managed to get the wonky leg to line up better with the grilles too

And here we are all done!

    Yes and no.

The retaining springs/clips push the caliper back and prevent it from knocking the top of the outer pad.......but theses get weak over time and the caliper gets enough play to hit the top of the metal backing of the pad to creat the knock noise......and I am too at the point of replacing them now.

About £10 for the pair and apparently should be replaced with every brake pad change but think mine are original and coming up to ten year old now, so had their day LOL

Most probably getting mine from ECP for £9 something and are made by Pagid. Waiting on my mate at TPS to get me a price for genuine ones before I commit there but.

    No part numbers unfortunately mate.

I had one job i wanted to do as i knew i had a few free hours this weekend.

As said in a previous post I'd had these kicking around from the original silver donor but the clips were buggered so never bothered

it wasnt the under tray that bothered me so much but the little corner spats you can see in the wheel arch always looked unfinished

So got a bag of ebay clips to hand

Got it up in the air with an empty undercarriage

    And on

And more importantly got the little spats on :)

I will probably be swearing about the bloody thing every time i need to do something on the car now, but its on :)

In other news id been doing a bit of research into load rates etc for shocks and found what sport shocks would be fitted to a 2002 3.0 quattro avant and found the part number needed, followed by ebay old new stock searching found this for £35.

Just need to find another now :)

I was lucky enough to come across a seller with a pair of matching front shocks when I was looking for mine. I just need to find a set of rears now so I can refresh all of the back end arms and bushes too.

cheers everyone, i was hoping to find someone with a few shocks in stock but no such luck. the search continues....

i am happy with how it all looks and sits now :) the only problem now is i am a bit bored of the performance after 2years :( but it is just a family hack afterall :)

suspension wise im not sure how it compares to the standard SE but from the centre of the wheels to top of the arch is about 31.5cm front and rear now its all settled.
