Sat nav head unit locked

The mrs parents have been away for a month (lucky sods), and have got back to there car (54plate polo Gt tdi) being flat... They have charged it back up, but lost the code in the head unit... They have put the code back in (what stamped on there card), but now the head unit just reads 'safe'.... I'm gonna ring up tps tomorrow to check the codes right, but how do I loose the 'safe' screen so I can put the code back in, or a different code if need be??

You follow the instructions in the manual. This involves holding in 2 buttons (RDS & TP on Audi Concerts) until the display goes from SAFE to 1000. You then use the 1-4 keys to enter the code i.e. if the code is 2345 you press the 1 button once to get 2, the 2 button 3 times to get 3 etc etc. You then hold in the same 2 buttons until the radio comes on.

It's not a normal tape/cd head unit... It's the full screen sat nav jobby....
