Same old car.. new problem

Evening all.

So every week I go under the bonnet and just check things are still nice and tight.

I went out this evening and checked the pcv screws and one has threaded!!! Does anyone have any ideas what I can do?

can you expand on "threaded " Darren, I am not sure what has happened.

Hi Rob.

Basically the screw just spins and doesn't tighten.

ah right I see, I did wonder if that was what you meant, just refresh my memory Darren, which screw is it .

It's the lower one on the pcv Rob.

yep the threads ******** in the inner half of the assembly, if you can wind the screw out just enough to get some pressure behind the screw head then extract the screw all the way, then just use a self tapping screw a shade large diameter thread and it should recut its thread on the way in and stay tight.

i don't suppose anyone knows what size self tapping screw I would need to get for this?

the're not hard to source Darren, just duck into Halfords etc with the old one and get one a wee bit larger thread dia.
