My beloved S8 D2 is coming to the end of her life and has develope a misfire. Fault Code says it's the whole of bank 1, mechanic says it's just 1 cylinder.
At idle she jumps from 750-900 revs but driving and accelerating above that seems absolutely fine, no loss of performance or economy. I've done 1000miles in a weekend since and she never skipped a beat.

I bought her in February after she'd been sitting for 2+ yrs. seems like one of the tensioners went and the timing belt must've jumped a few teeth. I had timing belt, tensioners and water pump replaced. That didn't fix it however. Coil packs were checked, spark plugs replaced, vacuums checked, ECU checked, compression levels checked. He and the other mechanics had the car for over a week and they were all stumped.

MOT is in January and I don't think I can afford to send her to audi or to find storage. So it's either the knackers yard or to someone who wants to take a gamble.

Any ideas on what it could be?

Thanks
