My car is coming up for its first visit to the dealership. Does anybody know what kind of cost is involved. I think the first one is only a oil change. Then it’s an inspection?

Has anyone had there’s done? :blackrs4:

I've got my A5 2.0 TDI Quattro booked in for the 2nd March (exactly a year from picking up the car :partypooper:) hopefully this will help as a guide but I'm paying £228 for the variable 2 year/ 19000 mile service, cars just gone over 19000 miles and apparently theres extra checks involved. I'm also changing all 4 tyres which would normally cost an additional £44.

I originally had quotes between £370-£407 (not including the tyre change) from 4 different dealerships however Audi will price match a like for like quote from another dealership or approved Audi specialist.

I asked an Audi specialist near work and they quoted £129 for the same work using genuine parts and would log the work on the Audi digital service book/ database. Now they would not produce a full quote stating part numbers as they probably knew I would have gone through the price match route with the main dealer, but I called up the dealership, told them the price and sent them the emails between me and the specialist showing the price and what was said regarding logging the work online and using the proper parts.

They called back the next day telling me they know who the specialists are and that they are a good company but they couldn't match the price 100% due to not having an official quotation but they did drop the price to £228 including fitting the new wheels which are supplied by me. Your standard price for the S5 will probably be different but find an approved specialist and get some prices from them to use for the price match.

Not an S5 but my S3 first service was around £210 at the main dealership...first and last time I use them!

This is why, S3 2nd service quotes:

Cheshire Oaks Audi £365
Crewe Audi £401.19
Liverpool Audi £439.80
Unit20 Audi specialist £220

My A5 will be going to the specialist when the time comes for its first service.

And don't worry about your warranty:

My S5 Coupe is 1 year old this week and its flagging up in 1000 miles for the oil service and 2500 for inspection currently at 16500 miles.
I have called 3 Audi Dealers so far and an Indi garage with a good reputation.
One Audi dealer suggested it needed 0w20 oil and 7.5 lites of it and that they wouldn't let me bring my own oil in.

Audi Poole -
Oil Service = £236
Oil & Inspection = £346

Portsmouth Audi -
Oil Service = £260
Oil & Inspection £394

Salisbury Audi -
Oil Service - £327
Oil & Inspection £442

Independent Garage
Oil Service = £180
Oil & Inspection £230

Suffice to say I am looking for an Audi dealer to price match!

So I managed to get Salisbury Audi to agree to Oil & Inspection for £332 inc vat.

I will need to plug the exhaust flaps back in this weekend ! Don't want any rubbish about warranty invalid etc!

Isn't it rediculous how much main dealers and indies charge for a 30min oil service. If you didn't have warranty restrictions then the service would cost about £70 to do it yourself.

Why not use the independant garage you had a quote from and save £100???

Yes, my sister had her 2 year old Ford KA serived last month £210 from a main dealership!!! I only paid £220 for the 2nd service on the S3 from an independent.

I looked again at the quote from the Independent and it appears they quoted for MUCH cheaper oil ie 05w 30 and thus the quote would be more... I asked for a re-quote and haven't heard anything back!! (not so good that they didn't know which oil).

I bought a maintenance plan. £40 per month. Covers me for servicing and tyres. Now 1 year old and needs oil service and set of tyres at 14k miles. £480 a year seems reasonable for this??

Had my first oil change service yesterday, £198.50 with Bridgend Audi.
Reasonable I thought.
