I almost feel like I am re-living the build up to my S5 at the moment reading this thread
I can almost smell the first traces of carbonation on the tips of its pristine quad exhaust pipes now it's this close (there is tempting fate to it getting stuck in Emden for 4 weeks!)
As Snake says, it's almost like reliving the experience. I remember having email alerts setup for MarineTraffic for ships leaving Emden (I think). Soon stopped that as it was a right pain!
Just imagine the dealer going over it with a fine tooth comb ensuring every surface is perfect.......
Cheers for that, now I have the image of a Brillo pad in my head!
That is so true LOL
it always great to see totally brand new pipes isn't it.
Think I've found them ;-)
At this rate you will be getting yours before mine! Can't believe its taken nearly 2 weeks to get it registered and taxed, it only took 8 days or so to build it and have it shipped and delivered to dealer compound.
I know mine's NOT there... with ALL those cars how come there isn't an IBIS White A5 Sportback Quattro going spare? lol
Astonishing how many cars are in one port at any one time! I knew there would be a few, but this wasn't all of them. No wonder a few cars turn up battle scarred at the dealers.
How far can you zoom in?
A fair way, but it's not live. When you do the detail loss is bad enough you can discern a car from a JCB but that's about it!
I know we want real-time updates but I bet that's never an option the dealers will offer, to view your car being manhandled off the boat and razzed around the car park...
Yeah I bet the S5's especially get some good 'run-in' thrash by those yard lads and boarding the ship
Especially when they know Warren is changing so many components when it arrives ha ha !
And ... I've heard that Warren's Dealer has taken delivery of a brand new set of brillo pads in prep for his car.
Whilst they know he has told them not to wash / polish it for him, they still don't believe him and fully intend to give his car the 'full works' Dealership detail or they will forget, lose the instruction NOT TO carry out this work
I once made the mistake of using a car park at Gatwick airport that parks your car for you (you pull up at reception and they drive it to the slot in the car park). Due to a delay I was still sat in the bus when the urchin who parked my car took it off to be parked. Thank god it had been warmed up, it squatted so hard on acceleration they must have launched it flat out, drive / stole come to mind. I always take the mileage and thankfully it only did 0.6 miles, but they were the fastest 0.6 miles that car ever did. I can imagine that at some point (ahead of the Brillo action) that will happen.
I've just been in to town for a hair cut. Walking down the high street every mobile phone shop had big Samsung 'S5' offers in the window, cruel world why do you taunt me!
ha ha BIG lol at that
Latest update: it was on the boat today, not been checked in at Sheerness yet, but likelihood is the delay in the system will mean it won't show up as on UK soil until tomorrow. Now just need 'Eddie' to do his bit!
Great news mate!
Good news, stupid question... who's Eddie? I guess the fact it's quoted means something like Fast Eddie, but I might just be being thick (nothing new there)...

Duh, of course!
Have you heard on the news about the car transport ship encountering this bad weather we are having and having a couple of decks flooded with sea water?
Only joking hope your new cars are with you soon so you can all enjoy...... if i didn't need my Q7 for its towing and seating i would certainly have a nice S5 too.
Nothing would surprise me any more!

How To Salvage A Sunken Car Freighter
Came in on African Highway which is one ugly mother :
Dealer has just come back to me and they would be happy to release the car to the detailer for 3 days before delivery if I wanted to get it perfect for collection.... Very tempted.
That would be tempting.... Think I'd go for that.
do it, save the dealer brillo pads!
and give her a good start in life!
I think if he has a free slot I'll go for it.
In the meantime some light entertainment bought to you from Audi at the Sheerness Docks:
Wow, congratats on the cars imminent delivery Warren. Yes let them release the car early for detailing, you could always pop along for a little visit, lol. x
Be rude not to!
I agree. x
I think having the car detailed and then taken back to the dealer for collection is a bad idea, just imagine your car being sat there all freshly detailed waiting for you to collect and those Eastern European Valeters give it a wash mistaking it for another Black Coupe.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! yellow sponges!
Out of spite they'd probably clean it to put some swirls back in!
Stobarts New Eastern European car Transporters ........
that cannot be real........................! ...... can it?
Seems ligit, it's one of his Trailers and Units by the Markings.
indeed, but is it not just a photoshop?
it has to be!
that's a lot of moneys worth of aston martins right there!
