Got to be here soon... can wait to see it once you done all the mods... plus effectively you are my guinea pig if your engine doesn't lunch itself with the remap and pulley upgrade I might go down that route too. ;) :p

No 2 engines / gearboxes are alike. At least with S-Tronic we can't abuse the gearbox too much, but you can never use one engine as a barometer for another. I had one Leon that drove like a dog, the next drove superbly. Then two S3's, one was OK, this one is much sharper. You've either gotta do it or you haven't, but warranty / responsibilities / wife's tolerance should always be pre-tested ;-)

Everytime i read this thread, its like a re-run of waiting for Glen's car. It took forever to get here, poor glen got subjected to my music choices for 6 months or so to keep his mind off the waiting time for car collection, although i have to say, i enjoyed his countdown thread very much. :) x

I'm just sorting some new playlists in the background of what I'm doing as I ordered 2 new Lexar 32Gb SDHC cards last night. Whole music collection will be on the 1Tb hard drive in the glovebox, bespoke playlists will be on the SD cards in the head unit.

That will be intriguing, look forward to that. I listen to music pretty much all the time so the 8,000 odd tunes in my iTunes library are well thumbed and over familiar. Be interesting to see what you come up with.

This week I'll be mostly listening to:

    > London Grammar
    > Cantoma
    > Gretchen Parlato
    > Melody Gardot
    > Blue Six
    > Bent
    > Afterlife
    > Doves
    > Nightmares on Wax
    > Crazy P
    > Stephane Pompougnac (Hotel Costes compilations)
    > Ninja Tunes compilations (e.g. Zen CD)
    > Fat Thumbs Ronnie
    > Hybrid
    > M83
    > Thievery Corporation
    > Gotan Project
    > Jon Hopkins
    > Cafe Del Mar Jazz

Lol, no I know that, and certainly a sample set of one isn't a statistically valid measure... but if it pops at the first sign of trouble I won't be risking it. ;)

As I drive like Miss Daisy 90% of the time (and over service - re: oil changes) it had better be fine! Lets hope you drive it and hate it for the sake of your wallet (and relationship with the missus)!

Thanks Sandra ... and I must say you and this site made the wait significantly more bearable, especially your music choices they were great :icon_thumright:

Would be cool to select a few 'banging' tunes for Warren - some select 80's 'classics' would be best IMO :whistle2: :thrashi:

Looking back I am really not sure how I managed to wait from May till November - basically ALL of the summer and well into the winter - made worse by the delay from an original delivery of September, pushed over 2 months into November it was torture. Even though I was running round in a great car at the time, when your new car is on order, you just want it don't you.

So we all feel Warren's pain, but at least he is on the last leg now and it will only be a matter of days now before he has his car and is telling us all how good those super sports seats are :)

Anyway - aren't you expecting your own car :s3addict: and if so when is delivery and how are you coping yourself with the waiting, as of course we will be there to help you with your wait too :beerchug:

Left a voicemail for Brian as he hasn't responded to my mail for over 2 days. He's going to be bloody glad once that car arrives and he can get shot of me.

Well the evenings looking up, just sold S3 turbo back exhaust to forum member Forbzee who dropped by the house to pick it up. Always good to meet a forum member, top bloke with a FL S3 whose looking to go Stg2. So that's the last of the S3 bits sold off and for once I've been able to oust the moths from my wallet and replace it with a wedge of green... Detailing budget now covered off.

    UPDATE:

It's arrived at the dealers today.

They have booked it to be PDI'd and it will be ready for collection on.......

    Thursday 22nd May 2014 @ 10am

Not quite sure why it takes that long, but it is what it is. Brian Clements my salesperson was absent due to a mountain biking crash, he's been in hospital for two days and has just come out and back to work today (poor sod). He confirmed at least the car has not been washed and won't be. Right, 6 more sleeps to deal with!

I can't get mine until late Thursday afternoon because of work, so please get pics up asap (although I suspect you will be driving around in it all day lol)

Funnily enough it will get driven 0.5 miles that day.

Straight home, wheels off, paint hubs, spacers on, transmission mount on, then snow foam, 2 bucket wash, pat dry, LED lights fitted, stand, admire, wait for Mrs to get home from Clerkenwell, head out for drive (assuming the weather holds). Pics throughout the journey!

The relief is significant! Annoyingly its the one day next week the wife can't be in attendance as she's attending some design show in Clerkenwell, but as mild mannered and considerate as I usually am I'm not waiting another day for it!

OH MY GOD .......... NEWSFLASH for sure :icon_thumright:

That is great to hear - so you can now drop the dock yard stalking then lol :)

When are you off to see it then, surely you can't bear to wait till pick up ?

You gonna give us some preview pictures of the car covered in the protection film ?

Woop Woop ... champers in the Warren house hold tonight then.

Lets see how quickly / slowly the next few days go then eh :)

I think we will need a new thread once the car is piced up though, as I suspect it may be a lengthy thread with Warren raving about the car, the seats, the luxury, the performance, the B&O, the refinement etc etc lol ... and then the mods to follow !

Cracking news mate, pleased for ya :o.k:

No booze related celebrations tonight chap, I'm still on medication for the issues I'm having.

It's been an interesting day, I've just had a call from my mortgage provide (which isn't interesting in itself) but I've just had to renew my mortgage product which expires in June. I've been with them 9 years, never missed a payment, I'm on full repayment (with occasional overpayment) and the questionnaire I've just had to go through to renew as existing customer took 57 minutes. Most was focussed around was I buying the right product for the right reason, and was anything going to happen to me in the next few months that would affect my ability to pay etc. (and when an I retiring / do I want kids / do I save / whats my house worth / does my wife want to retire early ....) during this call Audi's number flashed up on the screen and I had to reject it!!! I've ended up with a 5 year fixed at 3.x% which is cheaper than current tracker but you'd think I'd been asking for another £100k the level of the questioning. If you're due a mortgage product change soon be prepared is my best advice.

So that and the car call were like pain and pleasure!

I might go and see if I can get a 'cheeky' glimpse when I pick the wife up tonight, but it's an enormous place so it's unlikely (they run on 2 different sites).

ha ha lol geeez that mortgage phone would have done my head in - even though the end result was great, those kinda mundane things are a pain to do at the time aren't they - same with insurance, power and all that - has to be done otherwise they shaft you !

As for the car, I would be AMAZED if you can hold off seeing the car before pick up :)

Saying that, my S5 was the first car from Audi I did not go to see before pick and left the whole visual experience / impact for collection day - which was nervous and exciting at the same time .. I had never seen estoril blue EVER (just in pictures) I had not seen a black edition S5 and not seen a general A5 BE up close, as the show room S5 was regular (chrome style) hadn't heard the B&O etc, wondered if they had fitted all my requested options, wanted to check for dings or knocks ... anyway, resisted and glad I did as it all worked out, everything was spot on and the reveal from the cloth cover was amazing !

So think on mate what you would prefer :icon_thumright:

As mine won't be clean I don't think they'll be fitting the cloth on it (for fear of rubbing the dirt into the paint!).

I might wait until Thursday as it's felt so long a few more days won't hurt, it's just really comforting having an end date in the calendar; as I do a lot of project management work date ambiguity cooks my noodle! i spend much of my life asking people 'When'?

Nick dilemma resolved, he's on holiday in Spain. Just bought 2 new wash buckets, grit guards and a soft mitt to limit any paint damage till it gets there. Nick won't be back for a couple of weeks.

Great news Warren won't be long now,bit inconsiderate of the salesman having a mountain bike accident and ending up in hospital he could have waited until you've collected the car.:doctor:Get down that compound we need some photos of the car in all its glory.
