Hi All,

My S4 had its clutch master cylinder replaced due to needing the clutch pedal pushed down hard to start the engine, this sorted the issue but it has just returned! Any advise? Is it possible the clutch itself is worn?

I get concerned when I read posts like this, as this is my main worry with this car, although maybe my car being an early 2011 build has modified parts fitted. The S5 though I don't know if it was the 3.0T engine, did, it was claimed, get modified parts fitted as part of the repair action under warranty.

What age is your car? I do have the slightly noisy pedal action that can be cleared by lubricating the pedal linkage, though the over-centre spring still makes a slight noise.

Mines a 1st September 2010 car, going to do some tests tomorrow to see if it's the master cylinder or clutch. However my gut is saying clutch, the plates are tiny on these only 240mm!
