    Hi,

    Can anyone help me?

My Passenger side vents only blow hot air! The drivers side is ok - and seems to work properly.

Is this likely to be a flap / actuator or am I in new compressor territory?

    cheers!

Defo not a new compressor if you can get cold air from the drivers side.

I'd say your initial diagnosis is correct, it'll be a flap or actuator. Vag.com should have logged it if you have access to it.

is there any easy way to identify if the flap/actuator isnt working?

i.e. is there a similar 'diagnostic' mode for the 2003 S4 climate control?

    cheers!

I don't think so mate. The best diagnosis would be to make sure both zones are set to the same temperature, whack up the heat and check that both sides are the same.

    cheers!

Is there a diagnostic mode for the dual-zone air-con in my S4?

Like the mode you can go into by holding ECON and pressing +/- etc.

Like this... (quoted from a website)

To see your true speed in digital format press the following key combinations:
    1. Press Fan Down, Temperature Colder, ECON at the same time.
    2. Use the temperature control buttons to cycle through the various channels to Channel 16.
    3. Press ECON to go back to normal. (It goes back automatically when you restart the car.)
