    The box is maybe 50-75kgs?

Well I know first hand that a 1.8t block, head, flywheel, clutch and engine stand adapter is about 0.1kg short of "too ******* heavy"!!!
nearly burst a testicle getting it on the engine stand!
I was feeling young and ambitious at the time!

    Fantastic

I was also looking for a crane to remove a 1.8 engine so if the S4 is under then ton then it should be fine for the 1.8...

The box is deffo heavier than a 5 speed by about 20KG.

And to move an s4 lump arond a garage floor took 4 of us,lol

You could cut the whole front off the car and lift it for under a ton. I am sure the crane we hired was a ton and it p!ssed it

actually a lot of the yank boat anchors were much further ahead in using aluminium blocks/heads. its one of the reasons Rover bought the rights the Buick V8 that filled the Land Rovers, Range Rovers, SD1's, MGBs, Triumph Stags, TVR's etc etc.

they may be push rod tastic old school **** now but remarkably light....
