Just after abit of advice really, I have a B6 and am currently "trying" to do the B5 S4 front brake conversion.

I believe there is an early (bolt in brake pads) caliper and late (wire spring pad retainer) caliper.

Are there any performance differences in these calipers?

Reason I ask is that I stupidly made an offer to a bloke outside of ebay who had a set of the later calipers advertised with the wire spring pad retainers - they arrived today, he has sent me a set of early calipers.

If performance is the same then I will keep them, but if not then I will have to go about trying to get some money back.

    Many thanks.

Would you not be better going for the b6 s4 brakes? I know its a bit late to say that.

There were pre facelift and facelift calipers but i am not 100% sure if the fronts were all that different in terms of performance but i know the rears were different.
