When do S3's blow up?
What are the common failures and known problems?
S3's generally blow up when detonated with C4 or in the case of most terrorist groups, Fertiliser based devices.
But seriously, do a search, there is LOADS of info with tales of woe, strubble and dife.
The usual coil packs, water pumps, occasional boost hoses blowing off (when chipped), occasional steering angle sensors, lateral acceleration sensors, headlight motors or their sensors, worn creaking ARB bushes and other bushes at higher mileage, slipping clutches when chipped...
There is loads loads more but in general if you look after it and drive with at least a modicum of compassion then they are pretty reliable.
All of the above faults are not too difficult or expensive to solve though.
(water pump can be a pain)
Like any Audi - look after it and it'll look after you
