It's ok if you have the skills and equipment, but for the money, buying Dave's ones makes more sense. Saying that, I must point out there has been one report of tie bar failure of his ones. I'm running a set of his earlier bigger versions, and I've taken my car to castle coombe race track with no issues. His later ones are bit thinner and powder coated in a choice of colours IIRC.

The SS ones you supplied me were massive Dave, Chris had the later powder coated ones, and they were thin! The xenon height sensor goes around his arms, on mine, I had to modify to fit.

25ish mm I think, but don't quote me on that, plus it's the added stress put on standard arms.

Just wanted to say that these tie bars are a real nice, sturdy, well made piece of kit. I've been running Daves old style ones for 3 years now.

I'm sure Dave will post up pics of his soon but the newer power coated ones are beautiful. Bit of a shame they can't be seen when they're on the car.

So if you're dropping a MAXIMUM of 25mm you won't need these, but if you go beyond that you will?

Or is it that a 25mm drop is enough itself to require these?

Ive seen numerous people have a 30mm drop and say its fine. Theres also numerous people who run coil overs that go a lot lower without them. There not needed, but your rear tyres won't last as long i presume…….

i presume these allow you to run rear camber?

Id be interested in a group buy…..

It's personal preference at the end of the day, some people like camber, some don't. For stance and wider wheels, the extra camber helps wheel arch clearance for wider rims, there's also added rear stability, not that s3 lacks rear end grip. The main issue is tyre wear, the more camber you run, the quicker the inner edges wear out on your tyres.

My experience is anything over a 25mm drop, then it's recommended you fit some.

    Nope.

But he's not openly selling them or advertising them.
People have asked questions about them.
Same as when people talk about R-tech, Beachbuggy and other people selling goods or services via the forum that's not paid to do so.

Plus he's already said he needs to clear it with the powers before anything group buy can go a head.

Isn't there also the issue of the OEM tie arms being under extra stress due to the incorrect camber, so therefore they would be more prone to break/snap when they are lowered more than about 25mm? Or am I chatting do do and getting my wires crossed?

It was mainly due to the hub joints seizing

It will be Jan now Chaz, just sorting it with the powers, but they are busy with site issues..

I'm down 30mm and I would say I need them, trying to find a decent picture to illustrate, this is the best I have, notable negative camber on the rear, which I want to eradicate! 479842_179280942254326_1246009424_n.jpg
