S3 Xenon headlight problem

Hi guys

Been having some problems with my xenon headlamps. When switching them on, the right headlamp flashes and then goes dead. after swtiching on and off a few time, it lights up as normal. I took the car to an auto electrician who said it was the headlamp switch, which I then changed. I still have the same problem so I took the car back.

They now say its the ballast which shows some water damage and I should replace this. Could a damaged ballast cause this problem?

Thanks tuffty. Getting a new ballast this weekend and will get that fitted.

I'd grab a couple fella and change them both tbh.

Had to do exactly the same as Tuffty did late last year- although I didn't have a guide/pics to help
No 'roll back' was in place on the old units! lol

I had this but it was the cheap DS2 bulbs I had. Got some 6000k ones from Trups on here and they have been perfect since.
