S3 vs Scooby STI(and anything Japanese whilst we're at it:) )

I still have a 1.1 saxo (shameful i know, getting an a3 asap!) but a 2005 plate STi was revving at me the other day at the lights and just wheel span for 5 minutes and i took him on the lights.. obviously got on a dual carriage way 2 mins later and he raped me lol, but it shows that just cause u have a fast car, ur not a good driver.

And he was wearing the cap and all :L

I think that is possibly the funniest thing I have read, you should be given you own stage... Lol

I've never had the pleasure of an STI though I wouldn't fancy my chances unless the driver was clueless, only one I've been is my mates 350 bhp sti pro drive and that is a complete animal, 5th gear pulls like our 3rd...

Our STI is a 56 plate hawkeye, well looked after and serviced by a specialist. I wouldnt say I lost big time but it is a fair bit quicker and that is in a straight line. Also no smoke from ours on boost LOL

Not really sure comparing an S3 with a road going rally car which the STI is, is really a fair comparison tho?!

Lol its not a road going rally car - thats like saying the rs500 was a road going touring car, I think you'll find there is quite a bit of difference lol (£250k in price for a start)

S3GAV... you are 100% right about standerd scooby seats, which is why the ltd edition PPP seats were made!! like so :)

Full leather recaro buckets! Never once had a numb bum! :)

Are they recaro?
Are they buckets?

I didn't think they done a PPP for a classic either

Furthermore I don't think PPP included a seat upgrade, i may be wrong but I can't be bothered to google

Jap cars =awesome engines "but nasty interiors"

I would like to see a Saxo 1.1 vs STI thread on the Saxo's owners club, with the above in it... it would be EPIC! :respekt:

smoke isnt a bad thing i dont think, most turbo cars have a little smoke when they hit boost.....diesels obviously show this more apparently than their petrol counterparts

Smoke when giving it large is often unburnt fuel

My mates dad works building Evo engines, when cars are running BIG power they tend to have a really dirty map due to the fuel thats being pumped in. In his own car when he gives it the beans there's a bit of smoke but its nothing to worry about according to him. I'm inclinded to think he's telling the truth as well considering who some of his clients are ;). I also saw it from an Evo 7 that did the grand prix start on the M6 toll in front of me the other week....puff......... and it was gone!.

thing is if you imagine the fuel has to be there when the boost kicks in otherwise you will starve the engine....so id fully expect it

Indeed, looks a bit odd though!. Cleans up when at higher revs but pulling off quickly leaves a rather smelly cloud behind :)

do you think we bought Audi's because we think they are inferior? surely that is delusion...that said i think you are deluded as most comments do seem to be constructive...... i for one make sure i look at both sides before commenting and freely admit to not doing if I have infact made a rash comment

for you to stereotype people for being pro Audi and nothing more is pure ignorance as the evidence above is stacked against you

Oh completely. Say a good thing about a car other than an Audi, then you're in for a grilling my friend.

If insecurity is what you are after, go over to Cliosport.net and see the regular posters on there. Let's just say it's nice to be part of a helpful car forum, not a chav/17 year old General "Tat" forum.

YEP classics got the prodive treatment also. PPP ECU`s in things like the 555 ltd`s, etc. Prodrive done the PPP (prodrive performance pack) and they done a luxury pack too. The fronts are recaro (bucketish) they defo recaro tho as it was in the back of the seats. The luxury pack i was told this info by the orignal scoob garage in brystol it cam from. I went on a history hunt as things were not adding up on the car (long story) but it turned out the car was bought by a "lord" of somthing or other. It also had a sunroof wich not many classics had as well as AC. as i say long story. Even the Plate was chosen by this lord dude... P956 BAD. was gutted to let it go as it was truely a special scoob.

Sits back and waits for someone to tell me im wrong or i was dreaming......

I think this whole S3 vs scooby is a waste of time, most people here agree that an S3 wont be as quick point to point and they are totally different cars!
I think the Scooby vs is better taken on the s4 or rs4 forum, they are all hot saloons, what we all have is a hot hatch!
What Jap cars are there that are similar to S3?

Mazda 3 MPS? - Hot Hatch, how do S3's do here?
Hondas - sure this has been done to death! Type R vs etc - Sure S3 wins out here!!

I cant be bothered to think of any more but if we are comparing S3 vs Similar jap metal i think S3 wins :)

jap is crap thats my opinion :moa:

ive owned a couple and driven afew and they are all the same cheap cheap cheap
thats why they feel rapid my old pulsar's roof used to rattle like a shed when on tick over lol
don't regret owning them just glad ive grown up abit now to appreciate the finer things in life

gav u old sod :)

i feel some people above have missed the irony of my original first post....go back and have a look

That wasn't what I said or implied. Try reading.:sadlike:

Plus you must feel a tad silly asking a question like that when you know I own an s3 myself.

dont really feel silly at all, my comments referred to your post exactly knowing full well you own an S3.....all makes sense - if it wasn't what you implied then i apologise, didn't read that way to me
